Vicksburg Catholic School's St. Francis Xavier Elementary students will be honored at the beginning of the St. Aloysius home football game on August 23, 2019, at 6:30 PM against Hartfield Academy in the third annual Flash Dash event! Led by their classroom teachers, students will "dash" across the football field just before the game and be recognized in front of our home crowd.

"The staff at St. Aloysius is taking education to another dimension. Virtual reality is a three-dimensional, computer-generated environment that can be explored and interacted with by an individual who becomes part of the virtual world or immersed within the environment and can manipulate objects or perform a series of actions" (The Vicksburg Post).

"Mike Coleman has been hired as the girls basketball head coach at St. Aloysius. Coleman coached at Vicksburg High from 2000-05, and was most recently the girls coach at Clinton High School the past four seasons" (The Vicksburg Post).

“It’s a really amazing honor. Especially to get it with all of the good athletes in Vicksburg,” Williams said of the award.
Williams is the fifth consecutive St. Al athlete to win the Post’s award in its brief six-year history.

"Once upon a time, Chris Albert was an aspiring baseball player learning the game at Halls Ferry Park. One day at practice, a wayward foul ball changed that trajectory forever" (The Vicksburg Post).

"Early in the first set Wednesday, Braxton Chewning felt like it would be a pretty good day. It wound up being the best kind of day. The St. Aloysius senior won twice in straight sets, including a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Laurel Christian’s Bert Brassi in the final, to win the No. 2 boys singles state championship at the MAIS Class AAA tennis tournament at Halls Ferry Park" (The Vicksburg Post).

"The St. Aloysius boys golf team finished second at the MAIS Class AAA South State tournament Thursday at Laurel Country Club, and qualified for the state tournament Monday in Cleveland" (The Vicksburg Post).

"With faces sunburned red, the St. Aloysius tennis team got to lift a trophy plated in blue. Elise Piazza and the doubles team of Taylor Chewning and Ashley Jarratt both won championships as St. Al’s girls team won the MAIS Class AAA South State team title Wednesday at Halls Ferry Park" (The Vicksburg Post).

"The Flashes won 30 of the 36 sets they played, and district championships at seven of the nine positions, while easily claiming the team title at the district tournament Wednesday at Halls Ferry Park" (The Vicksburg Post).
